Baldwin Wallace University

David Disabato, Ph.D.
Lab Director

Dr. David Disabato is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Baldwin Wallace University. In addition to teaching psychology courses, he directs the Health and Well-being Lab (HWB). He is excited to discover new ways to harness health behaviors for adults with psychopathology and chronic illnesses. Dr. Disabato received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from George Mason University while studying under Dr. Todd Kashdan. There, he focused on the measurement of psychological well-being and what concepts we do - and do not - include under the umbrella of psychological well-being. Along the way, he obtained a concentration in quantitative psychology developing expertise in advanced statistical modeling. Dr. Disabato went on to complete a post-doctoral research fellowship at Kent State University under the mentorship of Dr. Karin Coifman. On post-doc, he received advanced training in adult psychopathology and the science of health behaviors. He learned to apply experience sampling methodologies to maximize the validity of his research. Dr. Disabato is excited to engage undergraduate students in the research process as they gain valuable skills towards their careers.
